The Providence Bruins saw another winning streak come to an end but still took three points from a two game series at Norfolk. The Bruins shutout the Admirals 3-0 on Friday before falling in a shootout on Saturday. With the three points, the Bruins sit in third place in the Eastern Conference.
Graham Mink continued to shine for the Bruins, scoring twice on Friday, giving him five goals and 10 points in 18 games with the Bruins. Along with fellow veteran Trent Whitfield, the two combined for three of the Bruins five goals this weekend.
Ryan Spooner collected just a single point this weekend, an assist, but has impressed since hid short stint in Boston. Spooner has 38 points in his first full professional season.
Matt Bartowski was the lone Bruins to appear on the scoresheet in both games. He assisted on all three Bruins goals on Friday before picking up another assist on Saturday. Bartowski is riding a six-game point streak and could be pushing for a call up if injuries strike Boston. In those six games, Bartowski has one goal and seven assists.
Niklas Svedberg recorded his third shutout of the season Friday, and his second of February. Svedberg continues to be very impressive during his first season in North America.
Michael Hutchinson was the tough luck loser on Saturday. He surrendered two goals on 31 shots. He has won just twice in his last nine starts. But he's allowed more than three goals just two times during that span.
