Boston University freshman and Bruins prospect Matt Grzelyck was named to the Team USA's preliminary roster today. Grzelyck brings the total to four Bruins prospects on World Junior rosters so far.
The defenseman has 11 points (two goals, nine assists) in 13 games for the Terriers.
"He's got something that most people just don't have," fellow defenseman Garrett Noonan told College Hockey News' Joe Meloni. "He knows how to make plays and, more importantly, when to make them. He's got free reign to go out an do what he can. I always tell him to do his thing. He has skill that are pretty impressive."
"His offense gets the attenton, but he's a solid defenseman and getting better," Noonan added.
Grzelyck's selection comes the day after Team Canada selected Dougie Hamilton, Malcolm Subban, and Anthony Camara for their preliminary roster. Other countries are expected to release their rosters in the coming days.
