The Providence Bruins jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead but then had to hold off a strong Manchester surge to snap their two game losing streak.
The Bruins struck quickly in the first. Just two minutes in, Chris Bourque's shot found it's way past Peter Mannino for the 1-0 lead. And then just over a minute later Carter Camper extended the lead to two on the powerplay.
But the Monarchs responded in the second. Just like the Bruins struck for two in about a minute in the first, the Monarchs did the same in the second. Brian O'Neil and Marc-Andre Cliche scored about 30 seconds apart to tie the game.
But the tie wouldn't last long as Jamie Tardiff took a feed from Ryan Spooner and tucked it into the back of the net for the 3-2 lead. The Bruins survived the third thanks to some timely goaltending from Niklas Svedberg.
Svedberg finished the night with 30 saves and helped the Bruins go 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
