NHL and NHLPA Continue to Meet November 8th, 2012 at 9:18 PM
By Tim ODonnell
There continues to be positive signs coming out of New York as the NHL and NHLPA have wrapped up their third straight day of meetings. There are plans for the two sides to meet again tomorrow.
Neither side would divulge what was being discussed.
"I'm not going to characterize it except to say as I have before that it's always better when you're meeting than when you're not," NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr said.
"I don't know what Don (Fehr) said, but the fact is, we have a lot of work to do and we're working hard," NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said.
Both sides have kept tight lips since the meetings in New York have started. And it's for a reason according to Bettman.
:"Because we have work to do and my hope is that we can achieve the goal of getting a long-term, fair agreement in place as quickly as possible so we can play hockey," Bettman said.
The meetings in New York are a result of Bill Daly and Steve Fehr meeting for hours on Nov. 3 to lay the groundwork.
If this pace keeps up, we may soon have a NHL season to play.
